Turning a muddy slope into a beautiful set of 5 steps, with a dry stone foundation and a huge slate slab on top of each step. Looking as if it always had been here.

Francis got in touch with Nico about this muddy slope, leading to his nice and fresh woodland where he likes finding shelter on a hot summer’s day. Can we do something better than that, using as much materials as possible that is laying around on his property. I noticed 5 beautiful huge slate slabs, some piles of stones laying around where an old barn used to be. Everything we needed was here!
What we’ve accomplished:
1.
We had to start by clearing the area and digging the foundations for the steps.
2.
Build the steps as small dry stone walls, strong enough to support the huge slabs.
3.
Position the slabs on top of the steps.
