Jane and Nigel had decided to create a water feature in their beautiful garden. With colleague, Charlie, Nico set about digging the pond and adding a magnificent dry stone wall as a beautiful feature but also as a retaining wall as they had to dig into a small mount. Birds, insects and other wildlife soon came to the pond, establishing their natural habitat and benefiting from this new water point.

“The pond is great. It is alive with birds  that have fledged they are really enjoying it!” Jane.

What we accomplished:

1.

Digging with good old fashion elbow grease and shovels, making sure we had steps and various depths to allow for different aquatic plants to find the perfect spot.

2.

Carefully building a dry stone retaining wall.

3.

Decorating the pond with pebbles and plants to make it attractive to the eye and the surrounding wildlife.
